ESKC 3D view very nearly completed!

The 3D view of the ESKC track is nearly completed! Many thanks to Grant Miller who helped me alot! In simple terms he used google earth to get all the track information then put it into 3d! with a few additions aswell to make the new track!

Now im just going to touch it up, change the road texture, add all the terrain, add tyrewalls, marshal posts, buildings and other stuff just to make it feel your accualy there!

3D View of crail – W.I.P (work in progress)

Some of you know i am working on a 3d view of a track. Its been a slow process. Thats because the program i was useing doesnt have the capabilitys of rendering 3d models ( buildings tyrewalls etc). So now iv started again and in the past week iv finished buildings, tyrewalls and some other stuff. Today got to work on the track itself because it was quite complicated in this program. Its turned out not to bad in the first stage.

My plan is to have something up on the website what lets you scroll around the track. Just a little extra what i thought might get people interested in joining the club or racing at crail. Any comments or suggestions are welcome!

Take your rubbish home!

Im reading on the scottish karting forum that people are complaining about rubbish just laying around at crail. If you are at crail for a race or just testing PLEASE take some plastic bags with you and put all your rubbish in at the end of the day. Crail likes to keep there track and pits all clean for visitors. We dont want people thinking that we dont look after our track. For the sake of seconds at the end of the day you can put rubbish in a bag and take it home and put it in a bin. I understand there are no places to put rubbish at crail. That doesnt say you just leave it laying around.

I was at crail myself today testing and it wasnt to bad. But looking inside the tyres around the track i saw lots of rubbish. Stalked tyres are not rubbish bins. We want people to think crail is well maintained track, which it is. Not some rubbish heap. So please take your rubbish home with you!

Registering on ESKC website.

I am having a small difficulty with the registration system on the ESKC website. Seems that people are able to register and not log in.

I have set it so i dont have to verify you. Problem with that is the website will get a lot of spam and ill have to spend a bit more time going 1 by one deleting the funny ones. To be sure i wont delete yours by mistake ( 99.9% of the time spam is easy to detect ) you should add something to your about you section.
PS : if you have registered yourself please check your mail for your password. It might be in spameskcregisterYour mail should look like this.

Crail this weekend cancelled

It is with regret that we will have to cancel the planned MSA sprint meeting at Crail this coming weekend 4/5th July due to far too few race entries – at present just 10 entries have been received for the weekend. The club would need at least 24 entries just to break even financially. Apart from anything else there were 5 Honda cadet entries, just enough for a grid although some were sealed engines and some unsealed, then 1 mimimax 1 junior max 1 senior max,and 1 formula blue. There is no way you can have a race meeting with these kind of numbers. Even if a few more folk enter late or just turn up on the day its unlikely that the entries will more than double which would need to happen. Please don’t blame the club – we rely on the drivers out there to support the club. No drivers – no race meeting. I guess its the start of the kids summer holidays and money may be tight also for a lot of people.
On a more positive note ESKC looks forward to welcoming hopefully the biggest turn out so far at Crail this year to the A plate meeting on 7/8/9th August – see the separate post for this, and we look forward to seeing you then.
Happy karting,

Matt
