2010 ESKC Forum
Behold the new 2010 ESKC Forum is now online and ready.
You may register and post away but because its so new, there might be a few problems with it. But that should not stop you from posting away
Any problems or ideas, post up a topic on the “Ideas” section.
I hope to get this forum up and running and have as many users and posts as the last one by the end of the year.
When we achieve this that would be a big success and it will give the ESKC website/forum a big advantage over other kart club websites. This will show that ESKC
is still one of the best tracks/clubs out there.

Iv had a few lets say frustrating emails about me not updating the website regularly. I cannot update the websites without any results.
Another note, when the website is updated the older posts will move down 1 column. Seeing old posts does not mean that the website
isn’t getting updated.
I have given jamie glen the privilege to update the website himself ,so if there is any important subject he wants to share, it wont have to go through
me all the time just in case im not available. I will still upload the results for the pro karts/sprint meeting as soon as i receive the information.
Thanks
Marc

Yes, its AGM time again! I am standing down as chairman and Graeme Millar has also told me that he intends standing down as competition secretary. Clubs like the ESKC only survive because a club is run by its members. The club is not a club without its members, however the members will not have a club unless the members are prepared to get involved in running the club. All too often those present at the AGM get their arm twisted to agree to take on a certain role in the club. There are of course certain positions in the club that MUST be filled, or the club will cease to exist in its current incarnation. It should therefore seem obvious to those reading this that this letter is being sent out to every member of the ESKC to ask if they are willing and able to turn up to the AGM, offer to help out in the running of the club over the next year in some way, and in doing so help the club to hopefully survive or even thrive. We all know that there have been difficult economic times recently and it is therefore even more important that the ESKC’s members continue to support the club in whatever way they can, in order to secure the club’s future. I therefore hope that as you read this letter you will ask yourself “what you can do for the club, rather than what the club can do for you”! The AGM this year is on Wednesday 28th October at 7.30pm in the bar at the leisure complex at Cairnsmill Caravan Park, just outside St Andrews (up the hill on the road to Leven). The postcode is KY16 8NN if you want to use a routefinder or satnav. I very much hope that as many of you out there as possible will come along to the AGM in order to secure the club’s future. The more people that are willing to help out, the easier it will be for everyone involved to share the load. If there are any specific items you would like discussed at the AGM, please e-mail them to me at matthew.roll@btinternet.com . Cheers, Matt

Following discussion at tonight’s committee meeting, I would like to invite all karters, including those without a current MSA licence to one of Crail’s “famous” Open weekends. These are held by the club occasionally to try to stimulate non-msa drivers in to testing the msa waters, but particularly to help less experienced drivers regarding kart/engine/carb setup/maintenence etc: however the most important reason we hold these events is to have a lot of fun karting in a relaxed atmosphere.
Further details will follow. However if you just want to turn up on either saturday or sunday, or hopefully both, you will be most welcome. A small fee will be charged, the exact amount is still to be decided but I imagine it would be around the £25 to £30 mark per day at a guess. The format is usually on initial alternating classes of testing, but, dependant on turnout there should hopefully be an opportunity to race also in the afternoons. As I said I will confirm these and other details in the not too distant future but wanted to give folk early notice so they can put these dates in their diaries.
Hope to see as many folk as possible there.
All classes of kart, 2 stroke (all Rotax classes, formula blue, tkm, 100cc etc), 4 stroke (prokart, world formula, biland, tkm etc.) and gearbox very welcome to attend. The more the merrier, and obviously the better the racing.
Time for bed I think………..
Cheers,
Matt

Im reading on the scottish karting forum that people are complaining about rubbish just laying around at crail. If you are at crail for a race or just testing PLEASE take some plastic bags with you and put all your rubbish in at the end of the day. Crail likes to keep there track and pits all clean for visitors. We dont want people thinking that we dont look after our track. For the sake of seconds at the end of the day you can put rubbish in a bag and take it home and put it in a bin. I understand there are no places to put rubbish at crail. That doesnt say you just leave it laying around.
I was at crail myself today testing and it wasnt to bad. But looking inside the tyres around the track i saw lots of rubbish. Stalked tyres are not rubbish bins. We want people to think crail is well maintained track, which it is. Not some rubbish heap. So please take your rubbish home with you!

It is with regret that we will have to cancel the planned MSA sprint meeting at Crail this coming weekend 4/5th July due to far too few race entries – at present just 10 entries have been received for the weekend. The club would need at least 24 entries just to break even financially. Apart from anything else there were 5 Honda cadet entries, just enough for a grid although some were sealed engines and some unsealed, then 1 mimimax 1 junior max 1 senior max,and 1 formula blue. There is no way you can have a race meeting with these kind of numbers. Even if a few more folk enter late or just turn up on the day its unlikely that the entries will more than double which would need to happen. Please don’t blame the club – we rely on the drivers out there to support the club. No drivers – no race meeting. I guess its the start of the kids summer holidays and money may be tight also for a lot of people.
On a more positive note ESKC looks forward to welcoming hopefully the biggest turn out so far at Crail this year to the A plate meeting on 7/8/9th August – see the separate post for this, and we look forward to seeing you then.
Happy karting,
Matt
We are currently low on helpers for marshalling etc at crail on the 6th/7th June. This isnt just for members, if you are a non member and are interested you are more than welcome. You will be paid on the sunday. I think the price will be £30 im not to sure. If you are interested in being a marshall at crail please contact matthew roll at matthew.roll@btinternet.com or call hamish clark ( number found on the contacts page). It would be a very big hep if you can be there on saturday and sunday! Canteen will be open on saturday and sunday !
Thanks!
